Reports

Reporting in Vinstra Flow is thin. There is one report, Stock value, and a dashboard made of widgets. Anything beyond that comes out of the lists themselves.

Set expectations accordingly: if you were told there is margin and throughput reporting, there is not.

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Select Stock value.

It values what you are holding. Because it works from product costs, it is only as accurate as the prices on your product records. See Pricing and suppliers.

The dashboard carries the day to day numbers:

Widget What it tells you
Available stock What is on hand
Low stock What is running down
Not available stock What has run out
Pending purchase requests Requests nobody has ordered
Pending purchase orders Orders nobody has received
Lead status stats Leads by status
Due this month Work coming up
Over due date Work that has passed its due date
Projects Project activity

There are also three dashboard sub pages, at analytics/projects, analytics/stock and analytics/production.

Everything date driven here depends on dates being filled in on the records. A project with no due date cannot appear in Over due date, however late it is.

For anything the report and the widgets do not cover, work from the lists:

  1. Open the list, for example Projects or Purchase orders.
  2. Filter it to what you want, and save the filter if you will want it again.
  3. Read the figures off the grid.

There is an Excel module on the server used for spreadsheet handling, and the PDF templates cover lead estimation, gate passes, lot received and invoices. Those are documents for a specific record rather than a reporting tool.

  • No margin report.
  • No throughput or bottleneck analysis.
  • No sales pipeline value, beyond the count of leads by status.
  • No report builder, no scheduled reports and no emailed reports.
  • No date range picker across the business.

If you need those, expect to pull the data out and work on it elsewhere.
