What Vinstra Flow does

Vinstra Flow runs the commercial side of a window and door factory. A job starts as a lead, gets drawn and priced, becomes a project, turns into work orders and purchases, and ends as an invoice and a payment.

This page maps the areas you see in the menu so the rest of the guide makes sense.

The application uses hash routing, so the address bar reads https://app.vinstraflow.com/#/lead rather than /lead. That matters when you bookmark a screen or paste a link to a colleague.

  1. Lead. Someone enquires. You record their contact details, then add the windows they want by choosing a layout and filling in sizes, system and colour.
  2. Estimation. The lead view works the design into an estimation, a material list, a glass list, a cost sheet and a cut sheet.
  3. Project. When the customer agrees, the work becomes a project with a status, a start date and a due date.
  4. Production. Work orders tell the floor what to make. Vendor orders cover anything you buy in for that job.
  5. Inventory. Purchase requests and purchase orders bring material in, lots record what arrived, gate passes record what left.
  6. Accounts. An invoice goes out and payments are recorded against it.

Some things the marketing site mentions do not exist in the application as separate features yet. Rather than describe screens you cannot open, those pages explain what the application really does instead:

  • There is no installation or site tracking module. See Installation tracking.
  • There is no standalone quotations area. Quoting happens inside a lead. See Quotations.
  • Reporting is currently one report, plus the dashboard widgets. See Reports.
